Freshman Braeden Zant keyed the Chaparrals to a 3-2 win over Aurora JV on Wednesday, firing off 12 kills in men's volleyball.

COD (17-2 overall) completes its home schedule Friday night against Region 4 foe Bryant and Stratton. First serve on Sophomore Night begins at 6 p.m.

The Chaparrals won their third straight match — all against four-year programs — by taking the lead early and rallying hard in the fifth set for a 25-22, 25-23, 17-25, 19-25, 15-11 victory over the Spartans.

COD hit just .085 (40 kills, 28 errors, 141 attacks), and overcame its poor serving. The Chaps has just four service aces to 17 service errors.

Adam Janowiak and Danny Overlin each had nine kills. Janowiak added an ace and a solo block, while Overlin chipped in with three block assists.

Setter Nathan Perez set the tone with 33 assists. Justus Barbel led in aces (two) and had three kills, three solo blocks and three block assists.
