Braylen Meredith, who led the Chaparrals in scoring this past season and became just the seventh player in school history to reach 1,000 career points, was named to this season's All-Region 4 honors squad, in a vote by region coaches.
Meredith, who was named to the first team, helped the Chaps to a 21-10 overall record. He ranked among the top in Region 4 scoring, finishing sixth in points per game (18.5) and eighth in points (536).
The Wheaton native surpassed 1,000-career points in the Chaps' regular-season finale and finished his career with 1,022 points. This season he had 11 20-point games with a season-high 33 points in a 68-66 victory at Morton.
His career includes establishing the all-time single game scoring record with 47 points against Illinois Valley on Dec. 14, 2023. He also ranks fifth in career free throws (213).
