College of DuPage more than earned its No. 1 seed entering the NJCAA Invitational this weekend, and the Chaps stand one victory away from earning the title.
The Chaps (23-2) defeated No. 6 Union County 3-0 (27-25, 25-11, 25-18) and placed themselves in today's title match.
First serve is 2 p.m. Eastern in Canandaigua, N.Y., and host Finger Lakes College.
COD is the last unbeaten team in the field and it will face the winner of Union and Nassau, who play at 10 a.m. EDT. A second match, if needed, will follow to determine the champion.

The Chaps have needed just the minimum required sets in their first three matches, taking command early in their 27-25, 25-11, 25-18 semifinal victory.

The Chaparrals opened play Friday afternoon, earning a 3-0 win over No. 9-seed Passaic County, 3-0.
Coach
Tolis Koskinaris made sure that all 15 members of the traveling party earned playing time, with
Justus Barbel leading with seven kills in the 25-13, 25-7, 25-12 rout.
COD hit an improbable .467 in the opener, with 36 kills, just eight errors in 60 attacks.

Nathan Perez led in assists with 24 and
Leo Ainger followed with six.
Barbel dealt three service aces and
Brayden Tejeda added two.

COD followed Friday's opener with its fourth victory in as many meetings this season against the fellow Region 4 foe Bobcats, 25-16, 25-19, 26-24.
The Chaps totaled 40 kills in 98 attacks, finishing with a .224 team attack percentage. Barbel led for the second straight match in kills with 13 (hitting .632), and added a solo block and an assisted block.
