The College of DuPage football team hit the road for the first time in the 2025 season to take on Minnesota West Community and Technical College and came away with a dominant 37-7 win on Saturday afternoon in Worthington, Minnesota. The win lifts the Chaps record to 2-0 on the season.
After a scoreless first quarter, COD outscored the Bluejays 21-7 in the second quarter and added 13 more points in the third quarter to create separation and cruise home with the easy win.Â

Justin Bland sparked the Chaps offense, going 11-15 for 192 yards and two touchdowns through the air and adding 45 yards on the ground and one touchdown.
AJ Moore had both a touchdown rushing and receiving while
Mark Melton and
Ty Carlson each added a touchdown of their own.
The Chaps defense forced 3 turnovers, highlighted by an
Omarion Gooden end zone interception that he returned 95 yards to set up a COD score.
Casey Bending collected 3 sacks, including a strip sack fumble recovery and
William Sierra led the defensive effort for the second straight contest with 9 tackles. The Chaps defense also stood strong with 2 separate goal line stands in the contest to keep Minnesota West at 7 points.Â
COD takes to the road once again next week as they travel to Detroit to take on Detroit Community Christian. Game time is scheduled for 12 noon eastern/11:00 AM centralÂ
