The College of DuPage Women's Volleyball team picked up a win the road Wednesday night, Sept. 10, defeating Joliet Junior College 3-1 (25-23, 25-15, 22-25, 25-22). The win brought the Chaps regular season record to the double digit mark.
The Chaparrals recorded 47 kills as team.
Isabella Furmanski was a steady presence for the Chaps, netting 11 kills. Not far behind were
Sami Hornbogen with 9 kills and
Claire Rambasek with 8.
Defensively, COD was able to record 7 total blocks. The defensive effort was anchored by
Frankie Brandonisio who tallied 12 digs. Rambasek was also stout defensively with 11 digs.
After comfortably leading the match through 2 sets, JJC provided some pressure by winning the 3rd. DuPage would respond in the 4th, prevailing in an exciting 25-22 finish to win 3-1. The win brings the Chaps to an impressive 10-5 record thus far on the season.
DuPage is right back in action Thursday, Sept. 11, squaring off against Waubonsee Community College (8-5) on the road in Sugar Grove, IL at 6 p.m.
