The College of DuPage women's volleyball team bounced back strong at the Blinn College Tournament on Friday, Sept. 19 sweeping both of its matches against Dallas College opponents. 

The Chaps opened the day with a 9 a.m. match against Dallas College Cedar Valley, rolling to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-0 victory. In the third set, Frankie Brandonisio achieved a rare feat, serving a perfect set and recording 7 service aces to lead the Chaps to a 25-0 result. There are no documented instances of this occuring at the NJCAA level. It was a total team effort, with every member contributing both offensively and defensively. DuPage finished the set with a hitting percentage of .688. COD finished with 33 kills on a .397 hitting percentage, plus 20 aces and 32 digs as a team. Megan Daca led the attack with 11 kills, while Claire Rambasek contributed 7 kills and a solo block. Jamie Loftus added 6 digs, and Daca joined Rambasek with a block apiece. 

"We had a nice start after playing a very strong Blinn team last night," head coach, Tolis Koskinaris said. "Our team is focused, and they know how hard it is to compete at this event." 

In the afternoon session, DuPage returned to the court for a 1 p.m. matchup against Dallas College North Lake achieving another 3-0 result, this time by scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-21. COD hit .312 in the win, with Isabella Furmanski contributing 10 kills and 18 assists. 

"Our ball handling was strong against North Lake," Koskinaris said. "We adjusted well to what they were doing to us, and it paid off on the scoreboard. Major credit to our setters and hitters with a team .312 attack percentage. It's always nice to go 2-0 at this event."
