College of DuPage women's tennis hosted Illinois Valley Community College on Sept. 24 in Glen Ellyn, falling 9-0.
"Even though we lost as a team, a lot of our student-athletes were able to learn from them and started to figure out ways to win points," head coach
Jim Bowers said. "
Semra Jadadic at No. 2 singles and
Kathy Johns at No. 4 singles had closer second sets but couldn't close them out to force a third."
Despite the result, Bowers noted plenty of encouraging moments. "I was encouraged with the effort we gave and the smart decision-making with control and intention," he said. "But our ability to make and execute shots is something we will continue to work on during practices."
The loss drops DuPage to 1-3 on the season. The Chaps will look to bounce back Saturday, Sept. 27, when they host Milwaukee Area Technical College.
