The College of DuPage men's soccer team hosted McHenry County College on Sept. 25, prevailing in a tight finish, 1-0.
The match remained scoreless until the 75th minute, when
Jason Hufnagle delivered a perfect pass to
Daniel Mendez, who buried the game-winner to secure the victory. Hufnagle also tallied three shots on goal.
Goalkeeper
Diego Ochoa was a wall for the Chaps, recording 8 saves on all 8 of McHenry County's attempts.
"Diego was unbelievable, he jumps high, gets to everything, and was phenomenal on crosses. His distribution is excellent, and I love his confidence," head coach
Matt Hanna said. "We're really lucky to have two strong goalkeepers in
Sam Eaton and
Diego Ochoa. Whoever is in there does a really good job for us."
Hanna added, "I'm happy with the win. McHenry has scored a lot of goals this season, and many of their games have been shootouts. That defensive effort was needed. I'm really happy with our first clean sheet of the season."
