The College of DuPage men's basketball team traveled to Rockford, Illinois on Jan. 27 to take on the Golden Eagles of Rock Valley College. After falling behind 14–5 in the opening minutes, the Chaps battled back to make it a single-digit game at the halfway mark of the first half. However, a strong three-point shooting performance from the Golden Eagles proved to be the difference, as Rock Valley pulled away for a 96–74 win. DuPage falls to 12–8 on the season.
Logan Glover led the way offensively for the Chaps, scoring 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. Ethan Howard followed closely behind with 15 points of his own. JJ Hernandez (12 points) and Amari Ford (11 points) rounded out the top scorers for DuPage. Hernandez and Ford also tied for the team lead in assists with three apiece.
Defensively, Glover stood out once again, tying the team lead with two steals and leading the Chaps with two blocks. Kaden McGee and Ford each added two steals, while Howard pulled down four defensive rebounds for DuPage.
The Chaps will look to fine-tune aspects of their game on Jan. 29 when they travel to Bourbonnais for a matchup against the JV squad of Olivet Nazarene University. It will be the second meeting of the season between DuPage and the Tigers, with the Chaps winning the first contest 76–51 in convincing fashion in Glen Ellyn. Tip-off on the 29th is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
