The College of DuPage women's soccer team split a pair of road matches, falling 4-1 to South Suburban College on Oct. 7 before responding with a 1-0 victory over Milwaukee Area Technical College on Oct. 10.
The Chaparrals opened the stretch against South Suburban, with
Julia Gonzalez scoring DuPage's lone goal on an assist from
Katie Castillo. Goalkeeper Brook Cutlip recorded eight saves while facing 15 shots on goal from the Bulldogs.
DuPage bounced back three days later against MATC, earning a shutout victory behind a goal from
Elina Velasco. Velasco found the back of the net on an unassisted effort, providing the only goal of the contest.
The Chaparrals' defensive effort was equally important, as DuPage held the Stormers without a shot on goal to secure the 1-0 result.
With the victory, DuPage improved to 8-4-1 on the season and returned to the win column following the loss to South Suburban.
The Chaparrals will travel to Madison College on Oct. 14 before returning home to host Moraine Valley Community College on Oct. 16 for Sophomore Night.
