The College of DuPage men's volleyball team traveled to Elgin on Feb. 19 to face the Eagles of Judson University.
The Chaps came out strong, taking the opening set in convincing fashion, 25-11. Judson responded by claiming sets two and three, putting DuPage in a must-win situation. Set four turned into a marathon, requiring 76 total serves before the Eagles secured a 39-37 victory to hand the Chaps their first loss of the season.
Adam Janowiak led DuPage with 17 digs. Brayden Tejeda and Danny Overlin each tallied six kills, while Amadeus Morales orchestrated the offense with 27 assists, leading all passers for the Chaps. Jahir Lopez caught fire from the service line with five aces, and Morales added three more. Nicholas Ockrim paced the defensive effort with 14 digs. Tejeda and Matthew Pemberton each recorded two solo blocks.
DuPage, now 9-1 on the year, will look to bounce back on Feb. 20 when they host Aurora University. First serve in Glen Ellyn is slated for 6:00 p.m.
