The College of DuPage men's basketball program hosted the Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats (WI) in a Region 4 contest inside PEC Arena on Thursday, Feb. 5. Three-point shooting was enough to down the Chaparrals, 82-49.
Despite
Logan Glover scoring the first two baskets of the game, a 12-0 Bobcats run after gave BSC a lead that they would not relinquish. An
Ethan Howard three-pointer made it a ten-point ballgame, 21-11 halfway through the first. A few minutes later, Glover would sink a deep shot to make it an 18-27 ballgame with just over six minutes to go.
With just 3:34 to play in the half, a successful
Cameron Chandler three-point play kept it within striking distance, a 23-34 contest, before the Bobcats rattled off another double-digit run to take a 44-23 lead at the break.
BSC kept up the hot hands in the second half, opening with a 5-0 run before an emphatic Glover dunk; one of three on the night for him.
With 15 minutes to play, Howard had his own three-point play to make it a 32-52 contest. BSC easily commanded the lead the rest of the way, to the tune of a 33-point victory, in large part thanks to shooting from over 42% from beyond the arc.
Howard's 15 points and Glover's 13 paced DuPage. Chandler was the next-leading scorer with nine for COD. Amarri Ford coaxed three steals on the defensive end.
COD (14-10) continues the campaign against the Kishwaukee Kougars in Malta on Saturday afternoon. The two teams have traded wins in the last seven contests dating back to 2017.
