The College of DuPage men's volleyball team traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 5 to take on the Raiders of the Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Chaparrals came away with a 3-0 sweep, winning by set scores of 25-22, 31-29, 25-18.
Danny Overlin and Brayden Tejeda led the DuPage attack with nine kills apiece. Lance Mueller and Adam Janowiak added five kills each, while Adam Sanchez finished with four. As a team, the Chaparrals posted a .242 hitting percentage on the night.
Max McDermott directed the offense with 23 assists. Janowiak was effective from the service line as well, recording three aces.
Nicholas Ockrim anchored the defense with 15 digs.
DuPage also saw a balanced effort at the net. Tejeda recorded three block assists, while Mueller added a solo block. Janowiak finished with two block assists, Overlin contributed three block assists, and Sanchez was involved in four blocks.
Head coach Tolis Koskinaris said the following after the sweep, "Nice to get a win on our road trip up to Milwaukee. We appreciate MSOE playing this match with us. They are good program and the type of opponent we enjoy competing with. Good night for Brayden Tejeda and Jahir Lopez."
The Chaparrals return to action on March 6 when they travel to Oakland City, Indiana to face Oakland City University. The match will be the first of four DuPage contests in the Hoosier State.
