The College of DuPage women's volleyball team went 3-2 at the Chap Invite Sept. 4-6 at the PEC Arena in Glen Ellyn.
The Chaps, ranked No. 5 in the NJCAA Division III entering the weekend, opened the tournament with a 3-0 victory over Dallas College North Lake on Sept. 4, winning 25-17, 25-16 and 25-18.
Zoey Aldarondo led the Chaps with 10 kills, while Addisyn Gardner finished with 15 assists and 12 digs.
DuPage continued play Sept. 5 with a pair of matches, beginning with a five-set victory over Owens Community College. The Chaps battled back after dropping the opening set to win 3-2, 16-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-27, 15-13.
Claire Rambasek recorded 15 kills and 14 digs, while Isabella Furmanski added 10 kills. Gardner finished with 24 assists, while Amirah Harrington added 17 assists. Sofia Ventimilla and Gardner each recorded four aces, and Laila Lawson finished with four block assists.
The Chaps followed with a 3-1 victory over No. 2 Rochester, 22-25, 25-17, 27-25, 25-12. DuPage hit .291 as a team in the victory.
Rambasek led the offense with 18 kills, while Loftus added 11 kills and Furmanski recorded 10. Gardner finished with 24 assists and 13 digs. Furmanski had 10 block assists and Lawson added eight.
DuPage closed the weekend Sept. 6 with a pair of 3-1 losses, falling to Sandhills Community College and Caldwell Community College.
Against Sandhills, the Chaps won the opening set 25-14 before Sandhills took the next three, 25-12, 25-18 and 25-17. Aldarondo finished with nine kills and 12 digs, while Harrington recorded 21 assists and 10 digs. Furmanski and Cailen Sadkowski each added seven kills.
DuPage then fell to Caldwell, 23-25, 25-20, 22-25, 20-25. Rambasek led the Chaps with 15 kills and 16 digs, while Furmanski recorded 10 kills while hitting .391. Amani Harrington finished with 14 digs and Ventimilla recorded four aces.
The Chaps return to action Sept. 9 when they host Milwaukee Area Technical College at 6 p.m. DuPage is 18-4 all-time against MATC but has dropped each of the last two meetings between the teams.
