The Chaparrals earned their first victory of the year Tuesday with an 8-1 decision over Oakton in nonconference men's tennis.
Â
Nathan Hurst reeled off seven straight points in tiebreaker in his 6-3, 0-6, 10-5 victory at No. 3 singles to highlight the day.
Â
"Nathan did a real nice job of finding a will to win when a victory seemed in doubt,'' Chaps head coach
Jim Bowers said. "Avik (Majmudar) rebounded well from a tough loss earlier in the week, and our doubles team challenged themselves.''
Â
The Chaps are at home Saturday against Elgin. First serve is 1 p.m.
