NORMAL — Freshman Lillian Buzani led the Chaps with an eighth-place finish Friday as the No. 2 ranked Chaps (NJCAA Division III) finished third overall at the Heartland CC Invite.
 
Buzani ran 20 minutes, 22.49 seconds to lead three runners in the top 20. Teammates Belle Adduci (12^th) and Morgan Clifford (17^th) helped set the Chaps' pace.
 
"Three among the top 17 was pretty sound for us,'' Chaps head coach Robert Cervenka said. "We showed improvement, especially with where we placed.''
 
Host Heartland won with a perfect score of 15. Joliet was second (72).
 
The Chaps are at the Bradley Invite in two weeks.
