Box Score Freshman guard Drew Gaston led the Chaparrals with 16 points, and Joel Boasiako added 10, but host Waubonsee earned a large first-half lead and defeated COD, 91-60 in NJCAA Region 4 basketball Tuesday night.
 
The Chaps, now 1-2 overall, play host to Wilbur Wright on Friday night. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
 
The Chiefs used their outside scoring advantage in the victory, outscoring the Chaps 24-0 on 3-pointers. They led 48-19 at the break.
 
Boasiako and Abram Ross each had seven rebounds for the Chaps.
 
No other Chap scored in double figures. Ross was next with nine points, Alexie Vlahos eight and Donnell Fraley seven.
 
COD, which trailed 74-35 with 8:56 left, scored 25 points down the stretch to narrow the margin.
