BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. (Oct. 8) — The second-ranked Chaparrals rolled up 768 yards of total offense, led by quarterback
Gavin Sukup's 276 passing yards and four touchdown passes in Saturday's 59-6 rout over host Community Christian in NJCAA football.
The Chaps scored a season-high 59 points and totaled 110 points against the Lions in their season series.
COD gained 388 yards through the air, and gained 380 yards on the ground to improve to 6-1 on the season.
Backup QBs
Peyton O'Laughlin and
Robert Brazziel each threw for one TD.
On the ground,
Jaden McGill gained 70 yards on seven carries, and Brazziel and
Franklin Hayes each gained 63 yards.
Randy Young and
Samson Zander each rushed for one TD.
Four receivers caught TD passes with
Matthew Brown and
Myles McKatherine each scoring twice.
Demetrius Kellie and
Franklin Hayes also caught a TD.
Joe Swaray and
Guy Goss each had interceptions to key the Chaps' defense, which has allowed 38 points in COD's six wins.
The Chaps are idle this week and return to Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium on Oct. 22 when they take on Hocking College. COD defeated Hocking 42-0 on Sept. 10.
