The Chaparrals continued their opening week of play against four-year schools with a 9-0 loss to NAIA-member St. Francis on Thursday.
 
Coach Jim Bowers noted his team showed improvement since Tuesday's match at Elmhurst and looks forward to their return to community college play when they take on Prairie State on March 26.
 
Jake Anderson impressed at No. 1 singles, despite taking a loss in a third-set match.

"The sophomores are getting more comfortable and playing much more competitively with opportunities to win. Jake extended the match and lost in a super third-set tiebreaker. The freshmen are quick learners and making progress and showing improvement in their two matches this week.
