The Chaps evened their overall record to 3-3 on the season with a 9-0 shutout victory over visiting Illinois Valley on Tuesday in Region 4 men's tennis.
 
COD is off until the regional tourney on April 29-30. The Chaps' scheduled match for Wednesday against Moraine Valley is canceled due to unplayable conditions on the COD courts.
 
Coach Jim Bowers says
"At No. 2, Mark (Lobdell) had a tough come-from-behind victory. Also at No. 1 doubles, Jake (Anderson) and Mark were down in the second set and came back for the win. We had a great day and got a win over a team we'll see again at the regionals later this month. A few bumps along the way today, but we have a couple of weeks to work on those mechanics and mental mistakes."
