Jayden Dean keyed the Chaparrals with 20 points off the bench and hit the game-winning shot with 35 seconds left as visiting COD earned a 73-72 win at Prairie State in Region 4 men's basketball Thursday night.
 
The victory extended COD's winning streak to four as it now prepares for Tuesday's home game against College of Lake County.
 
Down 72-71 late, Dean scored a layup in transition from a drop-off from Braylen Meredith.
 
Dean hit 7 of 11 from the field with a 3-pointer, and led three Chaps (5-2 overall) in double figures. Meredith scored 17 (5 of 8 FGs, 7 of 8 FTs) and led in rebounds with nine, and John Gray III scored 16 including four 3-pointers.
 
Quentin Schaffer hit three 3s for his nine points. Tylon Toliver scored seven.
