Men's Basketball Mark Reinhiller, Sports Information Coordinator

Carl Sandburg 84, Chaparrals 71

College of DuPage gave up control of its game Saturday at Carl Sandburg, as the host Chargers overcame a double-digit deficit in the final 10 minutes for an 84-71 victory in Region 4 men's basketball.
 
The Chaps, now 6-5 overall, are at home Tuesday night against Prairie State and Thursday night versus Oakton.
 
Both games are set for 7 p.m. starts.
 
Reserve Greg Strong led the Chaps in scoring with 20 points with six 3-pointers. Braylen Meredith scored 14 points with eight assists and six rebounds. Quentin Schaffer reached double figures in scoring with 11 points and dealt six assists.
 
John Gray III also scored 11 with two steals and two assists.
 
COD, which held a 42-34 halftime lead, totaled 21 assists and shot 49 percent from the field on 30 of 61 shooting.
