The two-time defending NJCAA champions College of DuPage ended their regular season Saturday at the Olivet Nazarene Invite and will bring a multitude of Chaparrals to compete in the track and field championships May 11-13 in Utica, N.Y.
 
Eight women have qualified in 12 open events and three relays. Leading the way is freshman Patty Karipiesiuk, who has qualified in the 100, 200, 400, 100 hurdles, pole vault, and high jump and in the relays. Sophomore Paulina Stachura has qualified in five events — the 100, 200, 400, long jump and high jump.
 
All-American Lillian Buzani has qualified in the 400, 800, 1500 and 5000 with the top times in the 5,000.
 
At Olivet, Noah Mack ran a division-best 10.61 in the 100 and now holds the top times in both the 100 and 200 (21.39). Freshman sprinter/hurdler Graham McAninch improved his 400 time to 50.33.
 
Sheldon Powell holds the nation's top time in the 3000 steeplechase with his 10:02.54 effort at Olivet. And the 4 x 100 relay team of Derek Erdman, Mack, Gabriel Parker and McAninch ran the top time in D3 at 43.02 seconds.
 
Pole vaulter Jack Sauder maintains his grip at No. 1 in his event, winning at 14 feet, 11 inches.
