Jayden Dean and Braylen Meredith each scored 15 points to lead College of DuPage in its 79-71 loss at Malcolm X in Region 4 men's basketball Thursday night.
 
The Chaps take a 12-8 overall record and 7-7 Region 4 slate into Saturday afternoon's home game with Wilbur Wright (3-12, 3-11).
 
Dean (5 of 12 FGs, 4 of 4 FTs) and Meredith (6 of 14 FGs, 3 of 4 FTs) were the catalysts, with Dean leading in assists with four and Meredith two blocks, two assists and five rebounds.
 
Greg Strong scored in double figures with 12 and Luka Cuk 10 with nine rebounds. John Gray III scored nine points with six rebounds.
 
Malcolm X led at halftime (35-32) and outscored the Chaps 21-12 on points off turnovers. COD had 16 miscues.
