College of DuPage opened the 2024 NJCAA track season Friday at Olivet Nazarene, qualifying five individuals and one relay for the outdoor nationals in May.
 
Reigning D3 athlete of the year Noah Mack won the 200 m, running 22.66 seconds. Two other Chaps earned qualifying times in the event — Weston White (23.13) and Gabriel Parker (23.29).
 
Pole vaulter Dominic Cokinis surpassed qualifying at 4.20 m (13 feet, 9 ¼ inches). Shot putter Isaias Lopez threw 11.62 m (38-1 ½) and qualified for the May event in New York.
 
The 4 x 400 relay team of Alex Mendez, Addisu Wolski, Parker and Elijah Phipps ran 3:35.53 and placed fourth in the event.
 
The Chaps return to Olivet Nazarene on Friday.
