Freshman Braylen Meredith led four Chaparrals in double figures with 19 points and reserve Jayden Dean added 16 as College of DuPage controlled host College of Lake County 69-61 in Region 4 men's basketball Saturday afternoon.
 
The Chaps (11-6, 7-5 Region 4), winners in five of their last six games, take on visiting Harper on Tuesday night. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
 
Meredith hit 7 of 9 field goals and hit all four free throw attempts along with a team-high six rebounds and three assists. Dean was 6 of 11 with five rebounds in 27 minutes.
 
Also scoring in double figures were Greg Strong with 13 and Luka Cuk 10.
 
COD pulled away from the Lancers late in the first half, outscoring CLC 20-8 over the final seven minutes of the half.
 
The Chaps led by double figures for all but 77 seconds in the final 20 minutes.
 
COD was 50 percent from the field on 22 of 44 shooting and hit 22 of 26 free throws.
 
The Chaps held CLC to just 36 percent from the floor and split the season series after losing at home to the Lancers 75-66 on Dec. 5.
