Sophomore Josephine Becker led COD's efforts Tuesday night against host Kankakee, firing off 16 kills in COD's 3-1 loss to the Cavs in Region 4 volleyball.
 
The Chaps (16-12, 12-3 Region 4, 5-0 Region 4 D3) are at home Thursday night against Highland. First serve is 6 p.m.
 
COD placed itself in a difficult position, losing the first two sets — 25-14, 25-20. It earned 12 kills in the second and defeated the Cavs 25-15, before falling in the fourth, 26-24.
 
Becker hit 16/3 errors/38 attacks for a .342 attack percentage and teammate Skylar Huffman added seven kills and Samantha Hornbogen five.
 
On the night, COD hit .191 (43 kills/17 errors/136 attacks).
 
Setters Ava Diaz and Alyza Grubich each saw action in two sets with Diaz lead in assists with 19 and Grubich 16.
 
Libero Francesca Brandonisio led in digs with 16 and boasted six service ace.  Alyssa Schillaci added nine digs.
 
Jillian Ross and Becker each had two block assists.
