Chaps earn 1-1 draw on Sophomore Day

Freshman Lucille Sugarman fired a one-timer into the back of the net in the 81st minute of play Wednesday afternoon and the Chaparrals earned a 1-1 tie against visiting Moraine Valley in NJCAA Region 4 women's soccer.
 
The Chaps closed the regular season 6-7-3 overall and 6-6-3 NJCAA Region 4 and now awaits Sunday's regional call that determines the postseason schedule that begins Wednesday.
 
The Cyclones grabbed the lead in the 58th minute of play.
 
Sugarman's goal was her team-leading seventh.
 
The Chaps honored seven players who played in their final home game. They are: Alyssa Basford, Sabrina Cox, Veronica Helma, Adamaris Lara, Alexandra Peric, Sugarman, and Joli Weigandt.
