Christian Casillas tied the NJCAA all-time longest field goal record, succeeding from 62 yards and No. 1-ranked College of DuPage dominated Saturday in its 58-21 victory over host Sussex County in NJCAA football.

COD's 58 points marked the second-most points the Chaps have scored this year as they now take an 8-1 overall record into Saturday afternoon's game at Ellsworth (Iowa). Kickoff is 1 p.m. Central.

Casillas' field goal ties the record set by Ben Davis of Ricks (Idaho), who kicked his 62-yarder during the 1997 season in a game against the New Zealand All-Stars.

He finished with three field goals and connected on all seven PATs.

Justin Bland threw for 251 yards on 21-of-34 passing with four touchdowns. He connected on eight passes to wide receiver
Clayton Bone, who caught a 31-yarder strike in the third quarter and finished with 106 yards

Bland ranks as the top QB in D3, throwing for 2,334 yards, 27 TDs on 135-of-207 passing and just three interceptions.

Bone leads D3 in touchdown receptions with 11 on 31 receptions for 663 yards.

COD was just as strong on defense, totaling six sacks, 14 ½ tackles for loss (86 yards), forcing two fumbles and receiving an interception from
BJ Mayes, who returned it 54 yards.

Jamari Jefferson totaled 3 ½ TFLs for 19 yards, and 2 ½ sacks (15 yards).
