Sophomore All-American Carmen Solis sped to the front of Saturday's Spartan Classic Invitational, finishing third for the Chaparrals in NJCAA women's cross country.

Solis ran 25 minutes, 11.8 seconds over the 6,000-m terrain at the Northwestern Medicine Cross Country Course in Geneva as COD finished third in the six-team race.

Aurora won with 29.

Bree Pelligrini finished 21st for the Chaps in 27:37.4.

COD is at the Midwest Invitational on Friday, and hosted by Olivet Nazarene.
