No. 1 College of DuPage exhibited a familiar story Saturday afternoon in its game against visiting No. 3 North Dakota State College of Science.

Making the most of its possessions.
Â
The Chaparrals scored on all six of its first-half possessions, rolling up 321 yards of total offense in the opening half as they went on to defeat the Wildcats 48-14 in NJCAA football at MacDougall Field.
Â
COD improved to 5-0 overall and all five have been routs. The Chaps own an average margin of victory of 39 points, having scored no fewer than 48 points and not allowing more than two touchdowns in a game.
Â
Quarterback
Justin Bland connected on four TD throws — two to wide receiver
Willie Feagin and
Clayton Bone.
Â
All-American kicker
Christian Casillas added two field goals (25 and 45 yards), running back
Haiden Janke added a TD on the ground and in the air, thanks to back-up QB
Mike Hein's 10-yard toss in the fourth quarter.
Bland threw for 324 yards on 23 of 29 passing and his four TDs. Both Bone and White totaled 91 receiving yards as White led in receptions with seven. Feagin had five receptions for 65 yards
Janke led COD in rushing with 52 yards on six carries and
Jamareon Dale rushed for 32 yards on seven carries.
Â
"The kids played great today,'' head coach
Matthew Rahn said. "We rotated a bunch of guys on the field. We're real proud that each one of our guys showed that they were game ready. The kids didn't buy-in to things they couldn't control. We remained focused and again, showed that we're a team that can do some great things in all three phases. Offense moved the ball and finished drives, defense kept them off the field and we get blocked punts and field goals on special teams.''
Â
Special teams player
Darion Johnson, who was this week's NJCAA player of the week, used his speed and agility to again play a factor with two blocked punts.
Linebacker
BJ Mayes led with seven tackles — all solos. Lineman
Casey Bending had one sack for 10 yards and two tackles for loss for 22 yards.
COD showed efficiency all day long on offense, not offering a punt from NJCAA leader
Aaron Rice, who averages 40 yards a punt.
Â
The Chaps conclude their three-game homestand Saturday against Minnesota State. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
