Sophomore All-American
Carmen Solis was the top junior college competitor in Friday's St. Francis Twilight opener, finishing 25th in the event contested at Channahan Park.
Solis raced the 5,000-meter course in 20 minutes, 18.8 seconds, averaging 6:30.6/mile pace for the Chaps, who finished fifth in the team race with 176 points.
Alexandra Abood was 49th (22:15.8),
Maureen Bluemle 50th (22:34) and
Bree Pelligrini 53rd (22:43.3) for the Chaps' top four.
Samantha Blankenship placed 64th.
COD is off this week and next competes at Northwestern Medicine Cross Country course in Geneva on Sept. 14 and hosted by Aurora University.
