Sophomore All-American Tim McMiller finished second in the 60 meters and COD secured five D3 outdoor qualifying times in the 200 as the Chaparrals men's track and field team tested its skills at Grand Valley State on Saturday.

McMiller ran the 60 in 6.88 seconds after running 6.96 in the preliminaries. He also came back in the 200, running 23.13 seconds.

Fellow sophomore All-American Weston White led the five 200-meter runners in 22.58. After McMiller, Eli Phipps followed at 23.26 with William Kallas (23.23) adn Jacob Gange (23.65) qualifying for the outdoor championship in May.

All-American high jumper Ronan Cornelius placed third, clearing 1.95 m (6-4 3/4). He missed on three attempts at 2.00 that would have qualified for the NJCAA indoor championship in March in Lubbock, Texas.

Kallas, who already qualified for indoor pole vault nationals, was ninth at 4.26 m (13-11 3/4).

Cornelius and Phipps earned outdoor qualifying distances in the long jump, and shot putters Sterling Sawicki and John Tarpeh also hit outdoor qualifying standards.

The Chaps are at North Central on Friday and Saturday.
