Sophomore All-American Carmen Solis competed Friday afternoon in the 5,000 meters at the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Lubbock, Texas.

Solis finished 19^th among 30 runners, finishing in 19 minutes, 2.99 seconds at the Texas Tech University Sports Performance Center.  She was the only Division III (non-scholarship) athlete in the event.

Iowa Western's Juliana Sakat won the event in 16:56.55.

The Chaps open the outdoor season March 28 in St. Louis.
