The Chaparrals opened their outdoor season this past weekend, sending a contingent of athletes to the Washington (Mo.) University Carnival and at North Central College First Chance.
 
Thirteen efforts and one relay met NJCAA Division III qualifying standards.
 
All-American Ellie Logsdon raced 12.53 seconds in the 100 and also clocked a qualifying time in the 400 hurdles (1:11.0). She also ran a leg on the qualifying 4 x 100 relay.
 
Klaudia Sztafa joined Logsdon with three qualifiers — 100, 200 and 4 x 100 relay. All-American Molly Morris met standards in the 400, 4 x 100 relay and long jump.
 
Sophomore Teegan Roach met standards in the shot put and hammer throw.
 
COD is at Elmhurst this weekend, beginning Thursday through Saturday.
