Logsdon rocks and rolls at Wheaton

As College of DuPage enters its stretch drive toward next month's NJCAA Championship, the Chaparrals fortified times and distances with a stellar effort at Saturday's Wheaton Invitational.

Sophomore All-American Ellie Logsdon finished second in the 400 hurdles, running the best time in D3 this spring at 1:03.12.

It's been a phenomenal spring for the Genoa native, who now owns top times in the 100 (12.53 seconds), 200 (26.10 seconds), 400 (59.03), the Saturday effort in the 400 h and running on the nation's top 4 x 100 relay.

All-American Carmen Solis, the school record holder in the 800, ran 2:25.33 in the 800 and 4:45.21 in the 1500. She holds the current best times in the 800 and 5,000 (18:40.49).

Coming on strong was freshman high jumper Adriana Villanova. The basketball standout moved over to track this spring and cleared 5-feet and ¼-inch (1.53 m) and is D3's top performer in just her second collegiate meet.

COD returns to Wheaton on Thursday for the Don Church Twilight. Field events begin at 11 a.m. and first running event begins at 3:30 p.m. at McCully Stadium.

The NCJAA championship is May 8-10 in Utica, N.Y.
