All-American Carmen Solis shined yet again during the Chicagoland Outdoor Championship held April 3-5 at Elmhurst College.
 
Solis set a school record time 2:21.88 in the 800, breaking the record of 2:23.45 held by Jessica Pancoska in 2001, and then ran a personal-best 4:55.88 in the 1500.
 
Her 800 record is the first running event COD record in 10 years and she nearly missed the 1500 record of 4:52.95, held by Kristin Eckert in 2008.
 
Solis wasn't the only Chap who stood out during competition at the four-year dominated field.
 
Sophomore All-American sprinter Ellie Logsdon ran 12.60 in the 100, and ran the fastest time in the 200 in D3 this spring in 26.10 seconds. She also ran the fastest 400 outdoor time in D3, breaking 60 seconds at 59.59.
 
And then for good measure, she ran legs on both the 4 x 100, which placed third overall, and 4 x 400 relays.
 
Freshman Klaudia Sztafa ran personal best times in the 100 (12.81) and 200 (27.38) and also ran legs on the successful 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays.
 
Sophomore Makenna Brown made her collegiate track career and the former Chap basketball standout ran 63.74 in the 400, ranking fifth best in D3.
 
COD continues its season Saturday at Wheaton.
