The College of DuPage Women's Soccer team opened up their Fall 2025 campaign with a 6-0 over Oakton Community College on Friday afternoon in Glen Ellyn.
Matt Hanna's squad set the tone early with a dominant performance from start to finish.Â
Peyton Wright started off the scoring just a little over 15 minutes into the contest, scoring from point blank range to give the Chaps a 1-0 lead.
Maria Haworth added a second goal just over 3 minutes later with an assist from
Grace Soltys.
Then
Carolina Carreon took over, scoring the first of her three goals on the afternoon with just over 4 minutes left in the first half to give DuPage the 3-0 lead that they would take into half time. The second half was scoreless until
Annabelle Andino scored with just over 26 minutes left in the game. Carreon added her second and third goals of the contest in the last ten minutes to secure the 6-0 final.
Brooke Cutlip earned the shutout in goal for the Chaps.Â
Coach Hanna was pleased with what he saw in the Cahps opener. " We wanted a strong performance to back up a really good pre-season. I was really pleased with the way we kept pushing and played the entire 90 minutes."
The Chaps (1-0) are next take the pitch on Thursday, August 28th, as they travel to Kishwaukee for their first road regular season contest. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 PM
