Two days. Two different results for the DuPage Women's Volleyball team this past weekend at the Owens College tournament in Perrysburg, Ohio.
The Chaps went 2-2 over the course of the weekend, winning both matches on Friday afternoon before dropping both contests on Saturday at the Sonny Lewis Invite.
On Day 1, the Chaps opened up against Delta College in a rematch of the 2024 NJCAA Division III Great Lakes District Championship match, which was won by COD and punched their ticket to the 2024 NJCAA National Championships. This time was no different as the Chaps swept the match by scores of 25-23, 25-11, and 25-22. COD followed that up with a straight set win over Lakeland College by scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-22.
Saturday afternoon brought a match-up with NJCAA Division II Edison State College, After dropping the first two sets, the Chaps fought back to take the third set before dropping the fourth set to lose 3-1. DuPage wrapped up the weekend by taking on fellow NJCAA D3 power Sandhills CC out of North Carolina. The Chaps dropped the first two sets by scores of 23-25 and 25-27 before the Flyers pulled away and swept the match in three sets.
The results from the past weekend give the Chaps an overall record of 5-4 as they turn their attention to hosting the 2025 Chap Invite this upcoming weekend at the PEC Arena. The Invite starts on Thursday night at the Chaps host Dallas College - North Lake at 6:00 PM and continues on Friday and Saturday. Teams competing in the event also include Caldwell Tech (NC), Eastfield College (TX), UW Whitewater - Rock County (WI) and Joliet Junior College.
