The College of DuPage women's soccer team earned a 4-0 victory over Elgin Community College on Friday night, Sept. 19, at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium.
With 24 minutes gone in the opening period,
Mariel Lara connected for the first of her 2 goals. After steady offensive pressure, the Chaps struck for 3 more goals in the final 20 minutes. Lara tallied again in the 70th minute,
Berenice Marin scored in the 75th, and Carolina Carreron sealed the win with a goal in the closing minutes. COD finished with 15 shots on goal, overwhelming the Spartans' defense.

Brooke Cutlip posted a shutout with 3 saves, while the back line limited Elgin's scoring opportunities.
"Four-nil against a good team...after a couple of tough results they bounced back really positively and got around each other. I'm proud of them for getting the win," head coach Matt Hana said.
The Chaps travel to Palos Hills on Sept. 22 to face Moraine Valley Community College.
