The College of DuPage women's golf team teed off at the annual Clash at the Creek, hosted by Joliet Junior College on Sept. 23 at Nettle Creek Country Club.
The Chaparrals placed 6th out of 10 teams in the event, which played as a par-71 course. Freshman
Isabella Krosse highlighted the day with a runner-up finish, shooting a 9-over-par 80 to place 2nd overall out of 54 golfers.
COD also recorded two additional top-15 finishes.
Maryssa Zielinski finished 13th with a score of 90, followed closely by
Aubreye Hyatt in 15th with a 91.
Liliana Martinez rounded out the lineup with a 125.
"We are close," head coach Jason Hyatt said. "Izzy played fantastic today with a runner-up finish and lower low score of the year. As a matter of fact, it's a team low score for the year so far. Maryssa and Aubreye are right on the doorstep, and I like the direction we are heading with everyone."
The Chaparrals continue their fall season Sept. 28 at Edgewood Unversity's invitational at Odana Hills Golf Club in Madison, W.I.
