The College of DuPage women's golf team competed at the Edgewood University Fall Invite on Sept. 28-29 at Odana Hills Golf Course in Madison, Wis. The Chaps placed 11th out of 14 teams and finished as the top two-year college in the field.
DuPage posted its two best rounds of the season, shooting 369 on day one and 368 on day two.
Aubreye Hyatt led the Chaps with an 81 in the second round, marking a career low and the team's best score of the year. The effort propelled Hyatt up the leader board and secured her a top-16 finish.
"I'm proud of Aubreye and the progress she's made so far this season," head coach Jason Hyatt said. "She played well, battled and stayed mentally tough throughout the two-day event."
Maryssa Zielinski tied for 30th after carding an 85 on day two.
Isabella Krosse placed 35th, shooting 87 in the opening round and 88 in the second.
Liliana Martinez recorded a career-best 109 during the first round.
Overall, Hyatt praised the Chaps' effort. "We had a few season bests, and I love the direction we are heading," he said. "The ladies are still hungry, which is what you want in a team."
DuPage will have more than a week to prepare for its next competition, the Region IV Fall Preview at PrairieView Golf Club in Byron, Ill., on Oct. 8.
