The College of DuPage women's golf team traveled to West Dundee to compete at Randal Oaks Golf Club in the Judson Spring Invite on April 7. It marked the first time in program history that the Chaparrals fielded a full team of five student-athletes. DuPage finished tied for eighth place out of 18 teams, the highest finish among all junior college competitors.
Aubreye Hyatt led the way for DuPage, tying for 12th place with a round of 85. Maryssa Zielinski carded an 89 to finish in a tie for 25th place, while Isabella Krosse shot a 94 to place tied for 44th. Newcomer Katelyn Fricano finished tied for 65th with a 102, and fellow newcomer Marie Bedford posted a 118 to place 92nd.
Head coach Jason Hyatt shared his thoughts following the Chaparrals' spring opener: "This is a talented group. The more practice and play they get, the stronger we will be. I am proud of how they handled the colder temps and battled the entire day. With some better decisions and more short game practice, we will be in great shape."
DuPage will travel to Waterloo, Iowa, for the Redtail Women's Invite on April 13 as they continue their spring schedule.
