The College of DuPage women's soccer team defeated Kankakee Community College 2-1 on Sept. 27 to improve to 6-2-1 on the season.
Katie Castillo opened the scoring in the 53rd minute with an assist from
Sophia Enriquez. In the 73rd minute, Castillo set up
Peyton Wright for the Chap's second goal. COD helf off a late push from the Cavaliers to secure the victory.
DuPage goalkeeper
Brooke Cutlip recorded 2 saves on 3 shots on goal from Kankakee. The Chaps' defense contributed heavilty in a lopsided box score that showed 16 shots on goal for DuPage compared to just 3 for the Cavaliers.
The Chaps return to action Oct. 8, when they host Milwaukee Area Technical College at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
