Mariel Lara scored three goals and
Carolina Carreon added two goals and an assist to lead the COD Women's Soccer team to a 6-0 home win over Harper College on Wednesday afternoon at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium. The win moves the Chaps record to 3-0 and have outscored their opponents 18-0 to start the season.
Lara started the Chaps scoring ten minutes into the contest while Carreon added her first goal of the game with two minutes left in the first half to give the Chaps a lead of 2-0 going into halftime.
Grace Soltys scored eight minutes into the second half on an assist from
Destiny Vazquez that increased the COD margin to 3-0. Lara followed with her second and third goals in the game in the next ten minutes of play to increase the lead to 5-0. Carreon, who assisted on Lara's third goal, closed out the Chaps scoring at the 70 minute mark with an assist from
Sophia Enriquez to give the Chaps the final margin of 6-0.
Jaydelis Mongoy earned the shutout win in goal for DuPage.
The Chaps return to the pitch on Sunday afternoon and put their undefeated record on the line as they will host Black Hawk College in a regional match up at COD. Game time is set for 1:30 PM.
