The College of DuPage men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a gritty, defensive road win over the Harper College Hawks on Tuesday, Feb. 10 to the tune of a 86-67 final score; the program's 15th-straight win over the nearby Region 4 rival.
The Chaparrals held Harper to a 33-point first half while erupting for 47 points themselves. The Hawks utilized the halftime break to their advantage, holding COD to a 39-point frame while playing more even basketball, scoring 34 in the final twenty minutes.
Ethan Howard led the offensive attack with 26 points on 41% shooting from the field to pair with seven rebounds and three steals.
Payton Moore's three three-pointers were the spark in his 13-point night, while both
Logan Glover and
Amari Ford totaled eleven for the Chaps.
Defensively, Ford had the only two blocks for COD while his four steals matched
Adyn McGinley for the team-lead. Harper had 13 turnovers on the contest, more than double COD's total; 12 of them by way of Chaparral steals.
"Definitely one of our better shooting games in a long time," said coach
Joe Kuhn. "[Moore's] threes were big, so were two from [
Vuk Zogovic]. Ethan and Amari were very good at attacking the basket."

"I know they scored a point more, but I really felt like we improved our defense as the game went on [into the second half]," said Kuhn.
COD (15-11) returns to PEC Arena on Saturday, Feb. 14 for Region 4 action against Harry S. Truman College for a 1 p.m. tip-off, looking to extend their win streak over the Falcons to three-in-a-row.
