The College of DuPage women's track and field team competed at the Wheaton College Invite on March 31, turning in several strong performances on both the track and in the field.

Klaudia Sztafa led the Chaparrals in the sprints, placing fifth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:04.61 and adding a top-10 finish in the 200-meter dash at 26.30. Agata Valuzis recorded a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing in 17.76.

In the distance events, Maureen Bluemle earned a top-10 finish in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:32.42. The Chaparrals also posted two top-10 finishes in the 400-meter hurdles, with Allison Browne placing fifth (1:13.94) and Valuzis finishing sixth (1:14.69).

DuPage captured first place in the 4x100 relay, as Browne, Sztafa, Adriana Villanova, and Micah Bates combined for a winning time of 50.73.

Browne added to her day in the field events, placing second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.61 meters. Villanova finished fourth in the long jump (4.82 meters), while Talin Hajyasin placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 9.04 meters.

Brianne Davis turned in a strong showing in the throws, placing fourth in the shot put (9.60 meters), third in the discus (34.74 meters), and second in the hammer throw (43.07 meters). Olivia Warmke added a third-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 20.55 meters.

DuPage will return to action April 10-11 at the Chicagoland Championship in Elmhurst.
