A successful penalty kick in the 85^th minute cost the Chaparrals in a 1-0 loss to Moraine Valley in Region 4 women's soccer Friday afternoon at Ullsvik Stadium.
 
The Chaps dropped to 3-8-1 overall and now prepare for Wednesday's home contest against Rock Valley.
 
In the 85^th minute, Chaps' GK Caitlin Yurkovich was given a yellow card, allowing the Cyclones' Dyani Calderon a PK. She converted and Moraine Valley held on for the victory.
 
COD had six shots on goal for the game, two each for Kim Martinez, Hallie Meachum and Anna Odisho.
 
Yurkovich had eight saves.
