Madison Dubiel came off the bench and led COD with nine points, but host Marshalltown (Iowa) was too difficult to overcome in a 58-44 Chaparrals' loss in NJCAA women's basketball Saturday.

COD, which trailed throughout, climbed back and cut the deficit to two late in the third quarter. Marshalltown struck with three straight 3-pointers on three consecutive possessions and regained control for good.
Marshalltown led 15-8 after one, and held a 26-21 halftime lead.

Nala Taylor followed with eight points and
Teegan Roach added seven points with a team-high nine rebounds.

COD (1-1 overall) resumes play Tuesday at home against Richard Daley.
