The College of DuPage women's basketball team traveled to Malta, Illinois, on Feb. 7 to take on the Kougars of Kishwaukee College. After trailing by one point at the end of the first quarter and carrying a slim two-point lead into halftime, the Chaparrals pulled away in the second half, securing a convincing 62–45 road victory. DuPage's defense was dominant after the break, surrendering just 19 points in the second half.

Erin Brown put together another dominant performance on the glass for the second time in three outings. Brown hauled in an astounding 26 rebounds, collecting 15 offensive boards and 11 defensive rebounds. She also added 13 points and three blocks to round out her impressive night. Ayaani Gusman led DuPage in scoring with 19 points while contributing six rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a well-rounded effort. Lexi Lopez added 13 points along with three assists and three steals, while Jamie Hasemann rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points on an efficient 4-of-5 shooting performance. Cailey Salerno made her impact felt as well, dishing out four assists and forcing four Kishwaukee turnovers.

Head coach Kristin Ison praised her team's effort following the win, saying, "We played a good, balanced game today with solid defense and effective offense. We have been battling the last week with short numbers, and everyone who was able to play today united and played together. It was some of the best team defense we have played all year, getting stops and rebounds, led by Erin's 26 rebounds."

Region IV action continues for the Chaparrals as they travel to Palatine on Feb. 10 to face the Hawks of Harper College. It will mark the second meeting between the two teams this season, with DuPage earning a 67–51 victory in the first matchup on Jan. 17 in Glen Ellyn.
